Who Is JWM?

In late 2019 JWM poultry was established to serve the poultry industry by offering expert advise, innovative solutions along with quality layer and broiler services. The name JWM is in honor of the late John Wolgemuth Melhorn, who was the founder of Melhorn Sales Service & Trucking Co., as well as a leader and innovator during his many years of serving the poultry industry.

Ken Wareham and Astin Melhorn began discussing the concept of JWM Poultry Solutions, LLC in 2017. The conversation started with the idea of forming a company that would bring a full service solution to many local and national poultry producers as John W. Melhorn had set out to do in 1957. It became apparent to Ken and Astin that the poultry industry could benefit from a company dedicated to providing layer and broiler producers with a full service option. With the support of Melhorn Sales Service & Trucking Co., founded by John Melhorn and owned and operated by Astin Melhorn, and the many years of poultry experience that Ken Wareham brings to the table, JWM Poultry Solutions can provide a poultry producer with every service required to get a bird from chick through to production and beyond. John Melhorn instilled in both Ken and Astin that their job was not done until the customer was happy with what they were hired to do. Sometimes, this meant going above and beyond the one dimensional service that we were initially asked to provide. At JWM Poultry Solutions, we strive to provide our customer with exactly what they need to be successful, nothing more and nothing less.

Currently, JWM is comprised of a team that combined has more than 100 years of experience in the poultry industry. Our team has served the industry in many ways including managing poultry handling and vaccinating crews, pullet and layer transportation, oversight of pullet and broiler grow out, and feed management.
